CE-märkning
European conformity marking applied where EU harmonisation legislation covers the product; it declares conformity with the applicable directives and regulations, not a quality grade.
CE marking (Conformité Européenne) is required where EU harmonisation legislation covers a product placed on the European Economic Area market. For excavator attachments, it primarily relates to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
Requirements where the directive applies:
- Risk assessment documented
- Technical file compiled
- Declaration of Conformity (DoC) issued
- CE mark affixed to product
- Operating & Maintenance Manual (OMM) provided
Where an attachment falls under the Machinery Directive:
- Must meet essential health and safety requirements
- Specific instructions for safe use with carrier machines
- Clear marking of weight, model, manufacturer
Declaration of Conformity includes:
- Manufacturer identification
- Product description and serial numbers
- Standards applied (e.g., EN 474, ISO 13031)
- Authorized representative signature
- Date of declaration
