CE-märkning

CE marking (Conformité Européenne) is required where EU harmonisation legislation covers a product placed on the European Economic Area market. For excavator attachments, it primarily relates to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.

Requirements where the directive applies:

Risk assessment documented
Technical file compiled
Declaration of Conformity (DoC) issued
CE mark affixed to product
Operating & Maintenance Manual (OMM) provided

Where an attachment falls under the Machinery Directive:

Must meet essential health and safety requirements
Specific instructions for safe use with carrier machines
Clear marking of weight, model, manufacturer

Declaration of Conformity includes:

Manufacturer identification
Product description and serial numbers
Standards applied (e.g., EN 474, ISO 13031)
Authorized representative signature
Date of declaration
