The front wear component of a bucket that penetrates material first; welded, or bolt-on/reversible for field replacement, depending on the configuration.
The cutting edge (also called blade or lip) is the bottom-front steel component of a bucket that makes first contact with material. It's designed as a replaceable wear item, protecting the bucket shell from damage.
Types:
- Standard flat edge: General-purpose digging
- Bolt-on reversible: Can be flipped when one side wears
- Weld-on edge: Welded in place, for less aggressive applications
- Half-arrow edge: Enhanced penetration for hard materials
- Serrated edge: For frozen ground or root cutting
Material:
- Standard: Hardox® 400 (400 HBW)
- Heavy Duty: Hardox® 450 (450 HBW)
- Extreme: Hardox® 500 (500 HBW)
