Strenx
Acciaio strutturale ad alta resistenza prodotto da SSAB, usato per ridurre il peso delle attrezzature.
Strenx is SSAB's range of high-strength structural steels with yield strengths from 700 to 1300 MPa. Unlike wear-resistant steels (Hardox®), Strenx is made for load-bearing applications where the strength-to-weight ratio matters.
In excavator attachments, Strenx is used for:
- Main body structures (reduced weight, maintained strength)
- Quick coupler frames
- Boom and stick reinforcements
- Lifting eyes and mounting points
Common grades in attachment manufacturing:
- Strenx 700: 700 MPa yield strength
- Strenx 900: 900 MPa yield strength, for high-stress applications
- Strenx 1100: 1100 MPa, for the largest weight reduction
With Strenx, an attachment can be built lighter at the same strength. How much lighter depends on the design.
