The centre-to-centre distance between the mounting pins. It varies by machine and by interface, and is checked separately from operating weight.
Pin spacing (also called pin centres) is the centre-to-centre distance between the two mounting pins that hold an attachment on the excavator stick or on a quick coupler.
Pin spacing alone does not decide the fit. Together with the pin diameter, the stick width and the linkage geometry, it decides whether a direct pin-on attachment or a coupler interface fits the machine.
It varies by machine and by interface. Two machines of the same operating weight can have different pin spacing, so it is checked on its own, never read off the weight class.
To measure it, take the centre-to-centre distance of the pin holes, the pin diameter and the width between the stick ears.
