Standard
S-System Symmetrical Scandinavian quick-couplers
The whole range: Excavator quick couplers
- 0.5–70 tons
S-System reversible Scandinavian quick-couplers built to the Nordic S standard, in fully hydraulic automatic, mechanically operated semi-automatic and hydraulic tilt/swivel versions. The range runs from QC-S30 for 0.5–2 t carriers to QC-S90 for 40–70 t machines, and the tilt/swivel QC-U-S models add 2 × 90° of hydraulic movement.
About this family
Hydraulic, fully automatic excavator quick coupler compatible with S Nordic system. Designed and built to EN 474-5 and ISO 13031:2016/Amd 1:2025. Rear mechanical safety lock and a hydraulic safety feature with pilot operated check valve. Visual indicator of engagement included.
The manual S-System quick-coupler is mechanically operated and semi-automatic. It lets you change attachments quickly and safely, with little time lost.
Built to EN 474-5 and ISO 13031:2016/Amd 1:2025: double profiled front hook, rear mechanical safety lock, a pilot operated check valve as a second hydraulic lock, and a visual indicator of engagement. On the hydraulic versions the check valve keeps the lock closed if hydraulic pressure drops, so the attachment cannot come loose. Optional lifting hook. Dimensions, carrier class and mass for every model are in the table below, as printed in the Quick-Coupler-Systems catalogue.
Features
- Automatic, semi-automatic (manual open), and swiveling versions available
- Quick-hitches made according to Nordic S standard
- Reversible
- Safety features (double profiled front hook, visual indicator of engagement, rear mechanical lock)
- Lightweight construction
- Optional lifting hook
Automatic: hydraulic S-System quick-couplers coupled and released from the cab
- Fully hydraulic: coupling and release are worked from the cab.
- Safety: a double profiled front hook, a visual indicator of engagement and a mechanical safety lock guard against accidental release
- The S standard is the coupler interface used in the Nordic countries
Manual: semi-automatic S-System quick-couplers engaged by hand
- Semi-automatic mechanism: the coupler is engaged by hand.
- Safety indicator: the operator can see when the coupler is engaged
Tilt/Swivel: S-System quick-coupler with 2 × 90° of movement, fully automatic or semi-automatic
- Movement: Tilts and swivels the attachment into its working position.
- Hydraulic operation: 2 × 90° of movement, both ways, 180° in total
- All couplers (mechanical & hydraulic) available with tilt motor
- Hydraulic line routing: the hoses are kept out of the way of the work
- Safety: a double profiled front hook, a rear mechanical lock and a visual indicator of engagement hold the attachment.

Which coupler is on your machine?
Pick the system on your machine and we put it in your enquiry. We check the bracket before we send the quote.
How to measure your coupler
Not sure which system it is? Three measurements tell us which bracket you need.
- Measure the diameter of both pins.
- Measure the distance between the pin centres.
- Measure the width between the inside faces of the ears.
If the coupler has a make or type printed on it, send that too.
Safety
- Attachment not fully engaged
- A visual indicator shows the operator whether the coupler has engaged.
- Loss of hydraulic pressure
- On hydraulic models, a pilot operated check valve works as a further hydraulic lock on the coupler.
- Accidental release
- The double profiled front hook holds the front pin of the attachment.
- The rear mechanical safety lock keeps the coupler engaged.
UK market: semi-automatic couplers are not supplied to the UK. Under an industry agreement with the HSE in force since 1 October 2008, UK buyers get the automatic or the manual version only. Confirm the version with our engineers when you ask for a quote.
