CUSTOM ENGINEERING
Our engineering team designs and manufactures custom attachments to your specification.
Problems with your current bucket
Start from what goes wrong with the bucket you use now. Each point leads to the part of the rock bucket page, or of the request, that deals with it.
The bucket wears through
The sides, the floor or the heel wear out before the rest of the bucket. Wear plates and side cutters are chosen for your rock and your machine.
Wear protection on the DBS rock bucketPoor penetration
The bucket does not cut into the face. The rock you dig decides the design, so engineering asks for the rock class first.
Rock classesMaterial hangs up in the bucket
Rock stays in the bucket when you tip it. Name the material and the job in the application step of the request.
Describe the materialNot enough capacity or loading height
The truck takes too many passes or the bucket does not clear its side. Give engineering your machine and the capacity or width you need.
What engineering needs from youThe bucket is too heavy for the machine
A heavy bucket leaves the machine less capacity for the load. If most of the work is digging rather than rock, compare the DB digging bucket.
DB heavy-duty digging bucketTeeth or adapters fail before the shell
The teeth and adapters are worn or broken while the bucket itself is still good. They are chosen for the rock and the machine, and you can name the tooth system you prefer.
GET and wear protectionCracking
Cracks show in the shell or along the welds. Tell engineering where the bucket cracks and what it was digging.
Describe the problem
Custom Capabilities
HOW A CUSTOM ATTACHMENT IS DEVELOPED.
1. Requirement
You have a site constraint or a specific machine geometry. Together we define the operating parameters and load requirements.
2. Design
We design the attachment for your machine and your application. We simulate stress loads, select materials (Hardox® 450/500), and build a prototype.
3. Series production
The design goes into series production. OEM projects are treated as confidential and are not moved into the public catalog. We do not name OEM customers, but we have built around 800 buckets in one order for a rental fleet, in its own colours and logo, and we have built the same items to one OEM's drawing, series after series, for many years. Improvements that are not tied to one customer go into our standard products.
Start a Custom ProjectFrom a print, a sketch or a worn part
6 engineers work in our own design office, and we build to customer drawings. A one-off leaves our works to the same execution requirements as a series: welding certified to EN ISO 3834-2, factory production control to EN 1090-1 EXC1 + EXC2.
A finished print
We build to customer drawings, from a single piece through to a recurring series.
A sketch
We work from a sketch as well as a finished print. The design office turns it into a manufacturing drawing.
A worn part
We reverse engineer from a worn part, for the case where no drawing is left.
What leaves our works
Milling, turning, plasma and gas cutting, bending, rolling, welding, assembly, painting and quality assurance in house. Heat treatment, blasting and casting are done by partners.
EN ISO 3834-2, certificate CSW/1293/2025 (UDT-CERT) · EN 1090-1 EXC1 + EXC2, certificate 1433-CPR-0257 (UDT-CERT: notified body 1433).
EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificates, per heat.
Custom builds up to 8 tonnes per single attachment, for carriers up to the 80 t class.
