Engineered to order
- Engineered to order
The DBS is the rock bucket of the DB range. It is engineered to order: we design each one for your machine and the rock you dig.
Which bucket for the job
| Bucket | Application | Machine class | Build | Teeth | Typical material |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| DB | Digging bucket, direct fit or SW and CW brackets | 10–50 tons | Economy, Standard or Heavy Duty, rock version available | CAT J, BYG Futura or ESCO UltraLok | Soil, rubble and bulk material |
| DBF | Flat top digging bucket for quick couplers | 10–50 tons | Economy, Standard or Heavy Duty, rock version available | CAT J, BYG Futura or ESCO UltraLok | Soil and bulk material, rock version for quarrying |
| DSX | Nordic profile heavy-duty digging bucket | 14–40 tons | Body in Hardox® 450 steel | CAT J, BYG Futura or ESCO UltraLok | Rocky ground and abrasive material |
| DBS | Rock bucket designed for one machine | Designed for your machine | Wear protection chosen for the rock | Teeth, adapters and side cutters chosen for the rock | Rock |

The teeth and adapters are the tooth-system maker's own parts.
DBS is for
- Digging rock, with the bucket designed for one machine and the rock it digs
- Jobs where teeth, adapters, side cutters and wear protection are chosen for that rock
- Buyers who need a factory acceptance test record before dispatch
Choose DB instead if
- You dig soil, trenches or foundations, or load bulk material
- A size from the model table fits your machine
Choose DBF instead if
- Your excavator changes attachments on a quick coupler and a flat-top bucket suits it
Choose DSX instead if
- You dig rocky ground or abrasive material and want a Nordic profile bucket with a Hardox® body
Questions about DBS
- Which excavators does DBS fit?
- We design each DBS to order for your machine and the rock you dig, so it has no fixed machine class.
- Which teeth and build does DBS come with?
- We choose the teeth, adapters, side cutters and wear protection of each DBS for the rock it will dig.
- What is DBS used for?
- The DBS digs rock. If you need a factory acceptance test record before dispatch, say so in your enquiry.
Problems with your current bucket
Start from what goes wrong with the bucket you use now. Each point leads to the part of the rock bucket page, or of the request, that deals with it.
The bucket wears through
The sides, the floor or the heel wear out before the rest of the bucket. Wear plates and side cutters are chosen for your rock and your machine.
Wear protection on the DBS rock bucketPoor penetration
The bucket does not cut into the face. The rock you dig decides the design, so engineering asks for the rock class first.
Rock classesMaterial hangs up in the bucket
Rock stays in the bucket when you tip it. Name the material and the job in the application step of the request.
Describe the materialNot enough capacity or loading height
The truck takes too many passes or the bucket does not clear its side. Give engineering your machine and the capacity or width you need.
What engineering needs from youThe bucket is too heavy for the machine
A heavy bucket leaves the machine less capacity for the load. If most of the work is digging rather than rock, compare the DB digging bucket.
DB heavy-duty digging bucketTeeth or adapters fail before the shell
The teeth and adapters are worn or broken while the bucket itself is still good. They are chosen for the rock and the machine, and you can name the tooth system you prefer.
GET and wear protectionCracking
Cracks show in the shell or along the welds. Tell engineering where the bucket cracks and what it was digging.

About this family
Teeth, adapters, side cutters and wear protection are chosen for both, so the protection sits where the rock wears the bucket. Every bucket passes a factory acceptance test before dispatch.
Designed for one machine and its rock
We design each bucket for one machine and one job. To start, our engineers need:
- Machine make, model and operating weight
- Quick coupler or bracket
- Rock class and how abrasive it is
- Target capacity or width
- Preferred tooth system
GET and wear protection
Teeth, adapters, side cutters and wear plates are chosen for the rock and the machine. The bucket is compatible with ESCO®, MTG®, Combi Wear Parts® and BYG® tooth systems. The teeth and adapters are the tooth-system maker's own parts.
Trademarks belong to their owners.
Rock classes
The rock you dig decides the design. We ask which of these you work in:
- Hard, abrasive rock such as granite and basalt
- Blasted quarry rock
- Softer bedded rock such as limestone and sandstone
- Frozen ground
Engineered to order, step by step
- Inquiry: you tell us the machine and the job
- Engineering: we design the bucket for your machine
- Manufacturing in Ostrołęka: cutting, bending, rolling, welding, assembly, painting and quality assurance
- Factory acceptance test
- Dispatch
Factory acceptance test
Every bucket is tested before it leaves the factory:
- Dimensions checked against the drawing
- Weld inspection according to the drawing and QC plan; welding performed under our EN ISO 3834-2 certified quality system
- Fit check on the specified quick coupler or bracket
The test record is supplied with the bucket.
Which coupler is on your machine?
Pick the system on your machine and we put it in your enquiry. We check the bracket before we send the quote.
How to measure your coupler
Not sure which system it is? Three measurements tell us which bracket you need.
- Measure the diameter of both pins.
- Measure the distance between the pin centres.
- Measure the width between the inside faces of the ears.
If the coupler has a make or type printed on it, send that too.

DBF - flat-top digging bucket for quick coupler
The flat top suits excavators that change attachments on a quick coupler. It comes in Economy, Standard, Heavy Duty and Rock versions.
Fits your machine
12–40 tons
Standard
GD - rigid grading & ditching bucket, 12–40 t
The rigid body has no tilt joint, so there are no hoses or cylinders to connect. It is used to grade surfaces and clean ditches.

GDH - heavy duty hydraulic grading & ditching bucket
The hydraulic tilt grading bucket shapes slopes and levels uneven ground.

SDB - heavy duty skeleton DB bucket
The SDB separates material as you dig: soil falls through the ribs while stone, rubble and roots stay in the bucket.

RDBF - flat-top skeleton DBF bucket on rods
Interlocking steel rods replace the solid bottom, C45 as standard and Hardox® as an option. Soil sifts out from the rocks while you dig trenches, drains and pipe bedding.
