How is the attachment mounted on this machine?

Tell us what is on the machine now. It narrows the sizes we show and goes with your enquiry. It does not confirm fit: we check the bracket before we send the quote.

These machines weigh more than 80 t, the limit of what we build to order. Send us the machine details and we tell you what we can build.

Which coupler is on your machine?

Pick the system on your machine and we put it in your enquiry. We check the bracket before we send the quote.

How to measure your coupler
Drawing of a bracket with the pin diameter (1), the pin centre distance (2) and the ear width (3) marked

Not sure which system it is? Three measurements tell us which bracket you need.

  1. Measure the diameter of both pins.
  2. Measure the distance between the pin centres.
  3. Measure the width between the inside faces of the ears.

If the coupler has a make or type printed on it, send that too.

Before you order: check the interface

The weight class of the Sany SY980H sizes the attachment. It does not tell you the pin diameter, the pin spacing or the stick width, and those decide whether an attachment fits. Measure them on the machine, or send us the measurements of the bucket it runs today.

Heavy excavators dig rock, load trucks and work in quarries, so wear decides the bucket as much as capacity does. Rock and reinforced buckets carry thicker wear steel, teeth and side cutters, and the bucket is sized to the trucks it loads and to the density of the material.

  1. Measure the diameter of both bucket pins.
  2. Measure the distance between the pin centres.
  3. Measure the inside width between the stick ears.
  4. If the machine runs a quick coupler, note its make and type.

What the SY980H figures mean for its attachments

  • The main pump delivers up to 1,130 l/min at 343 bar. That is the pump output of the whole machine, not the flow an attachment gets.
  • It digs down to 7,062 mm. That is the deepest trench it can open.
  • Its maximum reach is 12,557 mm.
  • It dumps at up to 8,000 mm, so a truck or skip side has to sit below that height.
  • Its arm is 2,920 mm long.
  • Sany lists a bucket capacity of 6.5 m³.
  • Bucket breakout force is 495 kN and arm crowd force 469 kN. That is the force a bucket or ripper works with at the tooth.
  • For transport it measures 13,930 x 4,160 x 5,463 mm (length, width, height).
  • Engine power is 478 kW.
