A root rake in a bucket profile: tines set in a bucket-shaped frame, so it rakes out roots and stones and can still carry and dump what it collects. It is used where clearing and loading are the same job.
About this family
Root Rake Bucket for land clearing with 0.6-9 ton excavators
The Root Rake Bucket is for vegetation management and land clearing with compact excavators in the 0.6-9 ton class. A standard excavator bucket has a solid cutting edge. The Root Rake has open tines that separate roots, brush, and organic debris from the topsoil.
Features
Optional features:
- Bolt-on sides that turn the root rake into a bucket
- Hardox® legs
- Bolt-on bracket
Dimensions
The letters on the drawing match the columns in the table below.

Typical jobs
The root rake for mini-excavators is used for:
- Land clearing and site preparation
- Removing roots, brush, and debris
- Landscaping work that needs the ground cleared of roots and stones
- Clearing plots for land development
- Removing roots with little soil disturbance
The root rake bucket clears vegetation with a compact excavator. Tell us the machine and the work and we confirm the size and configuration.
Which coupler is on your machine?
Pick the system on your machine and we put it in your enquiry. We check the bracket before we send the quote.
How to measure your coupler
Not sure which system it is? Three measurements tell us which bracket you need.
- Measure the diameter of both pins.
- Measure the distance between the pin centres.
- Measure the width between the inside faces of the ears.
If the coupler has a make or type printed on it, send that too.
- Loading machines…
