Configured
TR - trapezoid profile digging bucket
The sloped side walls form the ditch section in a single pass, so drainage channels and utility ditches need no follow-up trimming.
Fits your machine

Configured
UB - U-shape digging bucket
The bucket cuts a U-shaped trench bottom to profile in one pass. Pipe laying and utility work need less backfilling, less handwork and less spoil hauled away.
Fits your machine

How to choose
Work through these questions in order, from the ground to the machine.
- 1
Can a bucket get into the ground?
If it cannot, rip it first and load it afterwards with a digging bucket. The RIP opens compacted soil, frost, hard clay, soft rock and old surfaces with one shank. The MR breaks the ground with five teeth at once, so one pass loosens a wider strip and leaves smaller lumps to load. On a mini excavator, the RIP mini opens frozen ground, compacted clay and stony fill, and the MR mini breaks compacted soil, frozen layers and root networks.
- 2
What are you digging?
Loose earth, sand, gravel and firm clay: a general purpose bucket digs, ditches and loads it. Take the GP or GPL on a mini or midi excavator and the DB on a full size excavator. Sticky clay and wet soil: the BDP mini has a narrow Dutch profile, so the bucket cuts in and the material falls out when it is emptied. Anti-suction holes are an option.
- 3
How deep is the cut?
The DS mini has a longer bottom and a larger tip radius than a normal digging bucket. It digs deeper in one pass, so the machine has to be moved less often, and the long bottom holds large stones and stony soil in the bucket.
- 4
Is the soil stony or abrasive?
To sort stones out as you dig, use a bucket with an open bottom. On the GPO and GPLO the bottom plate has holes cut in it, and on the SGP a row of S355 steel ribs replaces the solid plate. Fine soil falls through and the stones stay in the bucket. For rocky and abrasive ground, the DB and DBF come in a rock version, and the DSX body is Hardox® 450 steel.
- 5
How does the bucket go on the machine?
If you change attachments on a quick coupler, take the DBF, the flat-top digging bucket made for it, in Economy up to 24 t, Standard, and Heavy Duty from 24 t. The GP, GPL and DS mini are made with a direct OEM hitch or for your quick coupler, for example MS, Martin, HydroQuick or CW, or with an S-System mount. The DB fits directly or on SW and CW adapters.
- 6
Which machine carries it?
Match the bucket to the machine weight: GP, GPL and DS mini from 0.6 to 10 t, BDP mini, GPO and SGP from 1.2 to 10 t, DB and DBF from 10 to 50 t, DSX from 14 to 40 t, MR from 11 to 32 t, RIP from 14 to 65 t. The DB, DBF, DSX and MR take any major tooth system, for example CAT J, ESCO, BYG, MTG or Combi Wear Parts. On a wheel loader, the FGP loads and carries loose material and handles light earthmoving and site cleanup, on loaders from 2 to 6 t and from 12 to 24 t.
Attachments by job
Pick the bucket for the soil first, then add a ripper where the bucket cannot go.
Loose earth, sand, gravel and firm clay
A general purpose bucket digs and loads it. GP or GPL on a mini or midi excavator, DB on a full size excavator.
Sticky clay and wet soil
The BDP mini has a narrow Dutch profile made for sticky clay and wet soil.
Deeper cuts
The DS mini has a longer bottom and a larger tip radius, so it cuts deeper in one pass.
Ground a bucket cannot enter
A ripper opens it first. RIP with one shank, MR with five legs for a wider strip. RIP mini and MR mini on a mini excavator.
Loading with a wheel loader
The FGP loads and carries loose material and handles light digging and site cleanup.
