Which coupler is on your machine?

Pick the system on your machine and we put it in your enquiry. We check the bracket before we send the quote.

How to measure your coupler
Drawing of a bracket with the pin diameter (1), the pin centre distance (2) and the ear width (3) marked

Not sure which system it is? Three measurements tell us which bracket you need.

  1. Measure the diameter of both pins.
  2. Measure the distance between the pin centres.
  3. Measure the width between the inside faces of the ears.

If the coupler has a make or type printed on it, send that too.

Before you order: check the interface

The weight class of the Caterpillar 305 CR sizes the attachment. It does not tell you the pin diameter, the pin spacing or the stick width, and those decide whether an attachment fits. Measure them on the machine, or send us the measurements of the bucket it runs today.

On a mini excavator the weight of the attachment counts for more than on a larger machine, because every kilogram of bucket is taken from lift capacity and stability. A narrow trenching bucket and a wide grading bucket are the usual pair, and many machines run a small quick coupler to change between them.

Quick coupler brackets at this weight

In our model tables, the attachments listed for the Caterpillar 305 CR at its weight are built with these brackets. Each code opens the models that list it.

  1. Measure the diameter of both bucket pins.
  2. Measure the distance between the pin centres.
  3. Measure the inside width between the stick ears.
  4. If the machine runs a quick coupler, note its make and type.

What the 305 CR figures mean for its attachments

  • Its auxiliary circuit is rated at 80 l/min and 265 bar. A breaker, auger, tilt rotator or other hydraulic tool states the oil flow it needs, so choose one whose range includes this figure.
  • The main pump delivers up to 133 l/min at 265 bar. That is the pump output of the whole machine, not the flow an attachment gets.
  • Caterpillar lists this quick coupler for it: Dual Lock Manual Coupler. The bracket on every attachment has to match the coupler.
  • It digs down to 3,670 mm. That is the deepest trench it can open.
  • Its maximum reach is 5,835 mm.
  • It dumps at up to 3,845 mm, so a truck or skip side has to sit below that height.
  • Caterpillar offers arms from 1,351 to 1,601 mm. A longer arm reaches further, a shorter one handles a heavier bucket.
  • Bucket breakout force is 49.2 kN and arm crowd force 28.3 kN. That is the force a bucket or ripper works with at the tooth.
  • Caterpillar gives a lifting capacity of 3,260 kg. Check a heavy grab or hammer, plus its load, against the full load chart.
  • For transport it measures 5,305 x 1,980 x 2,550 mm (length, width, height).

305 CR: what the brochure names

Features Caterpillar names in its own brochure for the 305 CR. Some of them may be optional, so check the machine's spec before you order.

  • Automatic engine idle when the controls are left alone.
  • A dozer blade.
  • Boom swing, for digging along walls and around obstacles.
  • A load-sensing hydraulic system.
